A beautiful, eight volume set of Louisa May Alcott books with gorgeous illustrations published in 1905. The set includes: Little Women, An Old-Fashioned Girl, Little Men, Under the Lilacs, Rose in Bloom, Jo's Boys, Jack and Jill and Eight Cousins. Condition of Little Women: The front cover is in good condition with some slight scuffs and the covers are bent with some slight tears. There is some shelf wear around the edges and some fading along the binding. The side has slight fading and some shelf wear and the back has some scuffs and discoloration and some shelf wear around the edges and bent corners with some slight tears. The binding is cracked and the pages have some slight tears and a few stains but the book is in excellent reading condition. It was illustrated by Alice Barber Stephens. Condition of An Old-Fashioned Girl: The front cover has some scuffs and slight fading and the corners are bent and have some shelf wear. There is some shelf wear along the edges and some fading down the side of the binding. The side has some slight fading and some shelf wear and the back has some dents and scratches as well as a little fading and some shelf wear around the edges. The corners are a little bent with some small tears at the corners and some fading down the binding. The binding is cracked and the pages have some staining but the book is in good reading condition. The illustrations are gorgeous and were done by Jessie Willcox Smith. The name of the previous owner is written on the inside of the front cover. Condition of Little Men: The front cover has some fading, scratching and a few scuffs and stains. The corners are a little bent with some tears and the binding has some fading down the side. The side is a little faded with some shelf wear and the back has some discoloration and scratches and scuffs and the corners are bent with slight tearing. The binding is broken but in good reading condition and the pages have some staining and some are a little loose. The illustrations are beautiful and were done by Reginald B. Birch. Condition of Rose in Bloom: The front cover is in excellent condition with some slight scuffs and the corners are a little bent with some scratches. The side has some slight fading and shelf wear and the back has some scuffs and scratches and the corners are a little bent with some tearing and the edges have some shelf wear that runs down the outside of the binding. The binding is a little cracked with some small tears on some of the pages and a little staining with some small pencil marks. The signature of the previous owner is on the inside of the front cover. Condition of Jo's Boys: The front cover is in excellent condition with some slight fading down the outside of the binding and some shelf wear around the edges. The binding is broken and the pages have slight staining. There is someone's personal library card glued to the first blank page and the name of the previous owner on the inside of the front cover.
