This edition of Mansfield Park is one of the earliest that can be found. This book was likely rebound in the late 19th century. In 1832-33 Richard Bentley bought the copyright of Pride and Prejudice from Thomas Egerton's executors and the remaining novels from Henry and Cassandra Austen. None of Austen's novels had been reissued since 1818, this is the third edition of Mansfield Park. The first American editions of the second, third and fifth were in 1832, just ahead of Bentleys. Condition: Fair to good. The front cover has some staining and wear. The side cover has a lot of rubbing and fading but no cracks or loose hinges. The back cover likewise has some staining and wear as the front cover does. The interior is clean, with no missing, loose, or torn pages. There is some staining to the first few pages of the interior but nothing affects the reading. The binding is sound and still in good condition, especially for its age.
